Hoppmann Audio Visual Chooses Vaddio Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera Systems for United States Navy Memorial Installation

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (February 3, 2009) – Vaddio, the leading manufacturer and OEM distributor of camera control systems, provided Hoppmann AV with a WallVIEW PRO 300 and CeilingVIEW 70 PTZ for the newly renovated Penn Quarter Conference Center and Theatre at the Naval Heritage Center.

“We chose Vaddio because of our great relationship with Vaddio and their products,” explained Vadim Finkov, Hoppmann technical engineer. “We have been using Vaddio for a long time and we have a very in-depth knowledge of their cameras and camera systems.”

The Naval Heritage Center is located in the heart of the Penn Quarter and offers visitors the chance to learn about the history and heritage of the men and women of the United States Navy - past present and future. The Penn Quarter Conference Center consists of one theater and two meeting rooms - all with state-of-the-art teleconferencing and audio/visual technologies.

With seating up to 240, the newly renovated Arleigh and Roberta Burke Theater hosts the award-winning film At Sea and the Discovery Channel’s A Day in the Life of Blue Angels, but also serves as a presentation facility with a 46-foot screen, 7.1 digital surround sound and HD/Blu-ray capability. Vaddio’s WallVIEW PRO 300 integrates quality recordings of these events with a remote pan, tilt and zoom video solution.

Based on the Sony® BRC-300 standard definition PTZ camera, the WallVIEW PRO 300 incorporates three Advanced HAD CCD image sensors to provide high quality, high-resolution images in both 4:3 and 16:9 modes. Vaddio’s Quick-Connect PRO cable system allows the use of standard Cat. 5 cabling to run video, power, IR and control up to 500 feet. By utilizing high speed differential signaling technology for the video signals, as opposed to baluns, gives this system superior video quality over longer Cat. 5 cabling distances and the ability to adjust the signal depending on the length of the cabling used.

Half-recessed and ceiling-mounted in a remote location of the Presidents room is Vaddio’s CeilingVIEW 70 PTZ camera system. The partially concealed camera functions to remotely observe and record the events taking place inside. The Presidents Room, named for its displayed portraits of U.S. Presidents, is a classic boardroom complete with a cherry-wood roundtable and furnishings. Stand-alone meetings and dinners for up to 50 people can be held in the Presidents Room, as well as overflow for programs taking place in the Burke Theater, with audio and video streamed in.

The CeilingVIEW 70 PTZ camera system includes a Sony EVI-D70 PTZ camera in a recessed metal camera enclosure backbox with ceiling tile support and a built-in EZCamera Cable shoe. The EZCamera cabling system allows the installer to use Cat. 5 cabling to run power, video and camera control.
