InfoComm to Conduct AV Technology Tours Using Listen Technologies Tour Group Systems
Posted on Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Listen Technologies Corporation has announced sponsorship of the InfoComm 2010 AV Technology Tours via an in-kind donation of its Tour Group systems.

Listen’s tour group systems, which transmit the tour guide’s voice to receivers worn by tour participants, will be used to facilitate the AV Technology Tours at the 2010 InfoComm convention in Las Vegas. These tours visit technical and entertainment venues in the city, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how leading edge AV technology has been implemented. Tour participants will have an opportunity to hear from the experts that operate these venues as well as understand real world applications of the technologies being exhibited on the show floor. AV Technology Tour venues include the recording studio at the Palms, Cirque du Soleil’s Ka, Love and O theaters, and the MGM Mirage LEED-Certified City.

"We are expecting multiple groups of up to ninety people, and the noisy, dynamic environment makes it a challenge to keep everyone together as well making sure our guests can hear the tour guide,” noted Deborah Wilson of InfoComm. “We have used the Listen tour group systems before and know that they are easy to use and work well for this kind of situation.”

The Listen Tour Group System includes an LT-700 Portable Transmitter with a microphone that allows the tour guide to speak in a normal tone of voice. Each guest will be provided with an LR-400 Portable Digital Display FM Receiver and an LA-164 Ear Speaker. With a transmission range of 150 feet in the Listen system, the tour guide is not subjected to voice strain and guests can stand at a comfortable distance without crowding.

"So often in our industry we plan and prepare for showcasing our technology visually, and often miss how critical it can be to hear the message of what is being shown,” said Cory Schaeffer, vice president of sales & marketing at Listen. “Listen is pleased to support InfoComm and applauds the association for recognizing the importance of making sure their guests will clearly hear what is being said.”
