Over 2,000 Participants Took a Minute to Win It; Discovered a Conference Room Can be Configured in Minutes
RICHARDSON, Texas - July 8, 2010 – AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the winner of its successful "AMX Jackpot - Take a Minute to Win It" promotion. The randomly selected grand prize winner of the promotion, which demonstrated how installers can configure and program a conference room in a matter of minutes using AMXmeetingroom and the Enova™ DVX-2100HD, was Scott Tonelson, an AV engineer with Digital Networks Group, Inc. of Irvine, Calif.
The Vegas-style contest, complete with slot machine prizes, asked participants to configure a typical conference room consisting of a Blu-ray player, lighting, display, Enova DVX Controller, Modero® Touch Panel, and an AMX Metreau Keypad, all through AMXmeetingroom. Most participants, regardless of their technical proficiency or background, were able to complete the installation in less than ten minutes. After completing the contest, players were automatically entered into the Smart Car drawing and chance for one of 12 iPads and other items.
"As a veteran of the AV industry, I was curious to see if AMXmeetingroom really could slash installation time to almost nothing - so for a chance at a Smart Car I thought I might as well give it a try," stated Tonelson. By just answering a series of wizard-based questions, the AMXmeetingroom configuration tool configures a control system, generates system configuration files, adds source device modules, updates program files already loaded on the AMX NetLinx® Central Controller, and updates the user interface on the Modero Touch Panel.
